Self Care
Self Care
Take a deep breath. During a crisis, it’s easy to make impulsive decisions. Slow down, take a deep breath, and spend some time in prayer.
Take care of your heart. When conflict escalates, take a time-out. Use that time to identify your feelings, and then return to the conversation when you are less emotionally charged.
Bring your best self to the table. You don’t have control of your spouse’s behavior. The only person you can control is you and your response.
Take counsel. It’s important to process the struggles you’re facing with someone you can trust. Find one or two confidants who can tell you what you need to hear, and not what you want to hear.
